Green Options

Today's technology affords Moncrief the ability to engineer systems that give customers the best of both worlds: uncompromised comfort on every level and unbelievable efficiency with minimal environmental impact. If you plan to upgrade, remodel or build a custom home, please call or email for more information.

Dual Fuel - Hybrid Heat

Combining the heat pump with a gas/oil furnace gives you the ability to very efficiently heat your home. The heat pump runs primarily in mild winter weather, thereby reducing gas consumption. The gas furnace is used as a backup heat source when outdoor temperatures drop below a heat pump's optimum heating capacity.

Geothermal Heat Pump

The geothermal heat pump uses the constant temperature of the earth to efficiently absorb or reject heat from the refrigerant cycle. Geothermal heat pumps use less energy then traditional heat pumps to heat and cool spaces. New residential products are available that bring this amazing, tried and true technology to the home.

Chilled Water Cooling

By installing a Chilled Water System or "Chiller", Moncrief is able to use chilled water to cool your home. This allows Moncrief to design a system that is flexible; able to deliver the right amount of cooled water needed to cool only the zones that need it, while at the same time being able to deliver cooling under the most extreme conditions. This technology has been used in commercial buildings for decades, but it has recently been scaled for use in the residential market. This is the most efficient way to cool large, multi-zone homes or offices.

Tankless Water Heaters

Often referred to as direct-fired water heaters, these systems heat water upon demand. There are no "stand-by" losses that are associated with maintaining large quantities of hot water in a traditional water heater tank. The tankless heater can provide constant hot water for back-to-back showers or filling up a large bathtub. Proper engineering and installation of tankless water heater systems is very important to ensure proper operation.

Ductless Mini-Split Systems

Available in heat pump or a/c only, mini-split systems use digitally controlled compressors and fans with multiple air temperature sensors to provide comfort and efficiency throughout a wide range of indoor and outdoor conditions. These systems are great for sunrooms, basements, kitchens and supplemental air conditioning. These systems are whisper quiet and ultra efficient.

Ultra Efficient Boilers

Modern boilers use variable fired burners that use up to 93% of the energy they consume to heat your home. These boilers can adjust the water temperature to correctly compensate for the outdoor temperature, zone temperatures and heating demands of the house. They can also simultaneously provide endless amounts of domestic hot water through the use of boiler-fired water tanks.

Solar Assist Hot Water

Harness the energy of the sun to pre-heat your domestic hot water 24 hours a day by using simple low profile solar panels, pumps and storage tanks. These systems can be installed and arranged in many ways, depending on your needs. By pre-heating water, your water heater (tankless or storage type) will not have to work as hard to heat your domestic hot water; speeding recovery times, saving energy and lowering utility bills! Water used for pools, hot tubs, and hydronic heating systems can also take advantage of pre-heated supply water to increase efficiency.
